Policies
Payment and Reserved Lesson Times
Students who are not on a regular monthly tuition plan are considered to be taking "periodic lessons." Students taking periodic lessons must pay in advance to reserve their scheduled lesson times. Lesson times that have not been paid for in advance cannot be guaranteed and lesson time scheduling preference will be given to students who are on a regular monthly tuition plan.

Canceling and Rescheduling Lessons
Lessons that have been scheduled and paid for in advance may be canceled for a refund or rescheduled with 24-hour notice. No refunds or make up lessons are available for lessons that are not attended or that are canceled with less than 24-hour notice.

Lessons Missed by Instructors
Any lesson (scheduled and paid for in advance) missed by an instructor will be rescheduled individually with the student or a refund will be issued for that lesson.

Ensembles, Recitals, and Classes
Students taking periodic lessons may participate in our student concerts at no additional cost. Unlike students taking weekly lessons, however, they must pay full price to participate in our ensembles, classes, and other events.

Weekly Lessons vs. Periodic Lessons: Which is right for you?

Our goal in offering different services is to meet the needs of our students and to ensure our instructors’ ability to earn income on the time they have available for teaching. We are happy to discuss the differences between to the two plans to find the best solution for you.

• Students taking periodic lessons pay a lower registration fee but a slightly higher cost per lesson.
• Students taking periodic lessons may cancel a lesson with at least 24-hour notice and have the option of a rescheduled lesson or a refund. Cancellations are not possible on the monthly plan.
• Students taking periodic lessons must pay in advance to guarantee their scheduled lesson times. A regular lesson time (beyond lessons that are paid for in advance) is not guaranteed.
• Students taking periodic lessons are not eligible for the free and reduced price offerings available to students on a regular monthly plan.
